When field saves (before) is an automation trigger on a field that gets triggered after a field validates and before the save actions for the field occur.

When Field Saves (After)

In the Action Manager for an evaluated field, the Evaluate Field tab allows you access to the trigger drop points for the field. Notice there are two drop points for the field: one that is indented above the field name and one after the field name. The indented drop point is the “before field saves” trigger drop point.
