 +**Filter interface type** is a setting on [[Form Type - List|list]] [[Form|forms]] that allows the builder to control which of the two available filter interfaces the user sees.
  
 +The two available options are:
 +  * **In a popup** - When this option is selected, searching in the list will take place in a lightbox. The user can add multiple filters and only when they'​re done adding filters and click the Save button will the search actually take place. This option is most commonly used when the list commonly needs to be searched using multiple filters.
 +  * **Inline** (default) - When this option is selected, searching in the list will take place inline, in the standard [[Form Type - List#Search Interface|list search area]]. As each filter gets applied, the list will immediately refresh to show the updated results. This option is most commonly used when the list usually only needs to be searched using one or two filters.
