Create a document Report

Why we do it: We need to gather data to present in a written format.

How it's done:

Start with the Search Reports page. Click Add Report. Complete the Setup Report page. Did you know?

Create invoices, purchase orders and many more types of documents with this type of Report.

Our example builds a simple purchase order using Fields from the Order Item Type and the Order to Product Relationship to display all the information we need to show on our Report.

The Expression Builder's HTML Controls give you a wide variety of formatting options to create appealing documents.

You can create a link in your application and add an Action to display the report.

Create a table, chart or graph Report

Why we do it: We need to gather data to present in a visual format.

How it's done:

Repeat the procedure above, but choose to set up a table, chart or graph. Did you know?

In our video, we create a table that display all of the Orders placed by an Account and shows the total price for those Orders.

Creating tables, charts and graphs in WorkXpress is as easy as dragging and dropping Fields!

Add a Subreport to my Report

Why we do it: We need to create line items for our main Report.

How it's done:

Start with the Expression Builder for your main Report. Click the “+” icon next to the Subreports dropdown menu. Build your Subreport and place it in the Expression Window for the main Report. Did you know?

Our example adds a Subreport to display a table of line items that display information about each product our customer has ordered.

Subreports loop over all results found. If you have five line items attached to an order, your Subreport will have five lines.

Output my Report as a PDF, table, chart or graph

Why we do it: We need to print or display our report onscreen.

How it's done:

Start with the App Builder's Block Creator Tool. Drag and drop a new Report Field onto the page. Choose any output format available from the “Output Type” dropdown menu. Did you know?

You have a wide variety of Report output choices in WorkXpress. You can display a report onscreen in your application or export it to PDF, Excel, Word or plaintext.

Many different chart and graphs displays are available to give you the flexibility you need to display data any way you like.
