===== Purpose =====

The API Query Builder is used by a developer or builder to create an query to be used by calls to the WorkXpress API to locate records in the system.
===== Accessing the API Query Builder =====

The API Query Builder can be accessed using the tools section of the [[Block Creator#WorkXpress Handbook|WorkXpress Handbook]].

===== Generating Query XML =====

To generate query xml simply build a query using the provided [[Query Builder]].  As new elements are added to the query the xml in the lower windows will be updated.  To add a sort to the query use the provided sort interface and then click on the "Save" button.
